Moore Philharmonic Orchestra is a 501c3 non-profit organization which began in the fall of 2005 when a small group of musicians began rehearsals at Southern Middle School and gave a Winter Performance at Pinecrest High School. This small group has continued to grow over the last 20 years to now have a rotating roster of 70-80 members of students and adults. Since starting, MPO has created a relationship with Sandhills Community College in Southern Pines and is now able to offer elective credit to college students. High School students can receive Tri-M credit through participation. Tri-M chapters are established by the school systems. To learn more about Tri-M visit www.musichonors.com
Membership in Moore Philharmonic is open to talented students as well as adult community members. There is no fee to join and no formal audition process. Seating in the group is determined by the Director. Anyone interested in joining should inquire through the contact page.

All concerts presented by MPO are by choice of any donation for admission and reflect a wide variety of music styles that strive to challenge the skills of the members. Past performances have included music by Bach, Beethoven and Bernstein as well as traditional Christmas selections for the winter concert. MPO also sponsors a scholarship program funded through donations from the community.
Mission Statement
The goal of MPO is to provide opportunities to students and community members to perform with a full symphony orchestra for free. We guide students on their musical journeys as they perform challenging music and learn to become better musicians outside of public school programs.
MPO does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.
