The sounds of America are as diverse as her people. The hustle and bustle of city life blends with the whisper of the wind through the wheat field. The laughter of children at play harmonizes with the voices of their elders telling stories of days gone by. Songs and celebrations from all corners of the world blend to create a polyphonic culture, rich with sound and color. When we band together to celebrate what makes our country beautiful, we truly embody our nation’s motto: E Pluribus Unum - out of many, one.
When many differing voices work together, a complex and sacred harmony is created. This is true not only of our nation, but of its musicians. The Moore Philharmonic Orchestra proudly presents an evening of music that represents the best of our country and its people.
In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to attend their 21st Annual Spring Concert, “America, Cinema, and Symphony” on Saturday, May 16th, at 7:00 PM in Pinecrest High School’s R.E. Lee Auditorium, located at 250 Voit Gilmore Road in Southern Pines. Enjoy an evening featuring the music of George Gershwin, Aaron Copeland, John Williams, and many more all-American composers.
Bring your friends and family out for an evening of symphonic celebration. Lobby doors open promptly at 6:00 PM, with seating beginning at 6:30 PM. During intermission, we will announce the winners of the gift card basket raffle as well as MPO’s annual scholarship recipients.
Admission is by donation of choice, and any amount is sincerely appreciated. Donations help support the orchestra’s operating expenses and MPO’s scholarship program.
We may not have fireworks in the program, but our season finale is sure to end with a bang!
