Moore Philharmonic Orchestra Celebrates 20th Anniversary Season

BY KAYLIE MORGAN Special to The Pilot Sep 13, 2024

Anniversaries are occasions worth celebrating in a big way. They are a time when friends and loved ones come together to commemorate a cherished moment. Convivial chatter fills the air, while attendees indulge in food and fellowship. Memories are shared, and those present reminisce about days gone by while expressing their hopes for the future. All too soon, this moment becomes a memory, but it also becomes a treasure to look fondly upon for years to come.

Looking back on the past two decades, the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra has much to celebrate on the eve of our 20th anniversary. In our time serving Moore County, we have nurtured the growth of many young musicians through performance opportunities and scholarships. Our guest musicians, guest conductors and teacher members have mentored and encouraged countless young people to continue pursuing their musical passions. We also played a role in rebuilding the Northern Moore strings program, and we are proud to see it flourishing once more.

We have also shared our love of music beyond the stage by going out into the community. In addition to our concerts, we have traveled with our ensemble members around the county to ring in the holiday season at the Pinehurst and Vass tree lightings. We have also shared the joy of live performance in our community through Autumn Fest, our biannual pancake breakfasts and our visits to the Pinehurst Resort’s Carolina Hotel.

We could not have accomplished these musical milestones without the support of our community.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, we would like to invite you to join us on Saturday, Oct. 26, 6 to 10 p.m., at the ballroom at the Tyson Sinclair Building, at 105 McReynolds St., in Carthage. Tickets are $60 per guest, which includes admission, dinner and dessert. Attendees may expect a fun-filled night of drinks, dining, dancing and door prizes. Dress code is black tie formal. Tickets may be purchased at www.mporchestra.com/concert-event.

Come out for a night of merriment and music with the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra this fall, and celebrate two decades of great music with an even greater community. We hope to see you there.
